This week was focused on piecing the whole show together ready for our first full run on Friday. We’ve been working with a large staircase which mimics the one incorporated into our set. With such a large set piece which requires the ensemble to move it throughout the show it’s important to start practicing as early as possible.
This week we have also had all of our props for the first time! From Wednesday’s crossbow to the dinner centre piece, take a look at some below…
Sam Womack and Les Dennis appeared on The One Show this week to talk all about the Addams Family and what audiences across the country can expect. You can watch the full interview here.
On Friday we did our first full run of the show, a daunting moment when you see what all the hard work has been leading to but we couldn’t be more pleased with how it went and everyone left amazed at what a great show we have on our hands. Of course to get through our first run we had to call on the magical powers of doughnuts, provided so kindly by the music man himself Andrew Lippa who has been with us throughout the rehearsal process.
Finally, alongside our weekday rehearsals we had a ‘cover’ rehearsal on Saturday where the swings and understudies in our cast rehearse in their roles and the show takes a whole new look with different faces playing our Addams and Beineke families. It also happened to be our self proclaimed ‘Bring your dog to work day’ so here’s cast member Scott Paige with one of our visitors who looks thrilled to be there!
